Currant, Neil and Bunting, Liz (2021) What do we mean by student belonging? In: UAL Education Conference 2021, 6-7 July 2021, Online.

Type of Research: Conference, Symposium or Workshop Item
Creators: Currant, Neil and Bunting, Liz
Description:

Belonging has become an important concept in our understanding of university students' experiences and in explaining awarding differentials. However, does the university community have a shared understanding of what we mean when we talk about belonging? What is our role in promoting student belonging? How might we develop students’ sense of belonging? This conversation space will explore different conceptions of belonging; our individual need for belonging, the role of relationships, developing a sense of fit. There will be an opportunity to explore shared practical examples of supporting student belonging and discuss differing perspectives of belonging.
