Description: | On Tuesday November 8, AMFI organised Beyond Green for the 5th time. Beyond Green is AMFI’s symposium about sustainability in Fashion. This year the central theme was Material Mindset. How are the used materials made and how sustainable are the production processes from the Fashion Industry? Helen Storey was invited to speak about her project Catalytic Clothing. Catalytic Clothing is a public experiment between the world's of Fashion and Science. Catalytic Clothing employs existing technology in a new way. It seeks to explore how clothing and textiles can be used as a catalytic surface to purify air. It is the brainchild of artist / designer Helen Storey and chemist Tony Ryan – people from very different worlds whose minds have come together over recent years in highly successful art/science collaborations. A series of cultural and art interventions will bring this forth coming technology into the public domain. |
