Wild & Cultivated: Fashioning the Rose

A book comprising 4 thematic chapters - Showing Roses, Masquerading Roses, Making Roses nad Rose Queens - followed by a section titled 'Fashioning & Seeing Roses'images, creatively juxtaposed, with extended captions. Many objects photographed were acquired by the curators, some borrowed. Top photograhers Tim Walker and Nick Knight provided images.

An Anthology (borrowed from the Greek 'anthologia' for flower gatherine), part rooted from necessity (written and curated during/just post pandemic) and our commitment to sustainability. This stand alone book accompanied an exhibition at The Garden Museum in 2022 created (jointly designed and curated) by Amy de la Haye and Simon Costin. It explored notions of wild and cultivated in broader cultural contexts and embraces popular and folk culture, fashion, image making, ceramics, painting, books, jewellery.
